I purchased the deluxe Pro Smart Slicer at a Meijer Thrifty Acres demo this week. The demo person was great. I have a professional Mandelin that is to heavy and not as sharp. I have used this new slicer and found that the unit works great. I did find the unit for a lower price on amazon, but I am still very pleased with quality and easy of use.

This is an awesome kitchen tool!! I am the most horrible cook that ever walked this Earth, but I find it so fast and easy to chop, slice, and dice ingredients that used to take me hours to prep before cooking them (yes, it takes me hours, not minutes to prep ingredients because I am not used to handling knives and food processors I own are too heavy, clunky, and too time consuming to clean so I hardly ever drag them out). I bought my Pro Smart Slicer at a Wal-Mart demo in York, South Carolina at the end of October. I finally got brave enough to use it yesterday and it did not take me long to start feeling very comfortable slicing potatoes. I was so amazed at how quickly my potatoes went from the chopping board into the frying pan. I hope this tools lasts me forever since it is now my favorite. I will probably get rid of several clunky tools I have to make more room in my kitchen for other easy to use tools. Thanks for such a neat gadget!!

Bought mine at a Walmart during a demo, the person doing it was awesome (just wanted to say). I use it very, cannot say how very, often, I love it. In fact I have used it so much that there is a spot along the back of the blade that some plastic has come off. I found one at Walmart priced for $10. Odd because I haven’t seem them except in the demos. I almost got it but remembered the lifetime guarantee so now just to take care of that! I have recommended to friends and family to get this if they see it. I absolutely love mine!

This product makes it so easy to cut up fruits and vegetables. However, I still haven’t found out how to slice cheese. I make a lot of lasagna and I thought this would be a blessing but so far, I haven’t had any success. So, any suggestions would be appreciated.

This was my 2015 Christmas present to me. I love it. I really know how to buy Christmas presents for myself! I got tired of shredding my knuckles on my old mandolin slicer. I tried to find one on-line that was two piece and would keep my hand away from the blade but found nothing. I was walking through Sam’s in Sunrise Florida when I saw the young lady in the middle of her demo. Aha, I thought, perfect! Just what I was looking for. When she paused to change to a final blade setting, I knew I wanted one and asked the price. She said she would tell me at the end of the demo. Everyone laughed. I told her I would take one. When she finished the demo, I bought mine. I love it, love it, love it. The other review here is wrong; I am the world’s worst cook. But at least now my food looks great. I love that I can now make French fries that are all even. They cook better not having to burn the smaller ones waiting for the larger one to get done like when I was cutting them by hand. My salads now look professional. And this slicer cleans so easy! I just rinse it under the faucet and everything washes right off. I am so happy I went to Sam’s that day! This makes my life so much easier! Again, I love it!

      Hello Ronald,

Thank you so much for sharing your happiness with our slicer! It is indeed a great tool, and it’s great to know that your kitchen skills have improved because of it!

We wish you a very Happy New Year with many dazzling, delicious meals to enjoy!

We are currently in the ER with my husband due to this product. Yes I think the product is great and does cut well. We are aware of the warnings of the shape blades and we would never hold food to grate with out the handle. However I find this design a hazard. Let me explain. As I finished using my tool and rising it, I left it in the drying rank. Why in the kitchen some how it feel of the rack by accident and my husband happen to be grabbing a cup of coffee my the sink. His natural reflexes reached to catch what was falling and it was the grating part of this product. There went his finger, I’m and disgusted that I loved this product but with kids in the home and elderly parents we never ever thought of the blade causing that kind of damaged. We were focused on using the handle and everything. I feel their needs to be a better design that covers or hides the blade when not in use. I’m eager to see how many have had accidents form this product. Please email me of you have had this happen. I would not keep this in my home . I don’t recommend it if you have kids, I am throwing it away and yes I’m sad this $80 or so cost my husband this painful experience. If any consumers had damages or injuries to this please email me at cguzman802003@yaho.com curios to see if there is more than just me.

I must admit that I didn’t follow the direction told me many time to use the the safety guide. My fault I have a bandage on my thumb. My question is it seems to only have two setting for slicing. One for thick and one for very thin. Am I doing something wrong. When I turn the dial it seems to be stuck on these two. Thank you for any help.

I purchased the Pro-Smart slicer about 6 weeks ago at Wal-mart demo and loved it. I have lost the safety holder. How can I just get the safety holder?

Does not work for me. Try to slice a tomato and the blade did not cut and the same with an onion etc. This was purchased at my local Meijer following an in-store demo on 04/09/2016. The demo made this product look fantastic but when I try to use it nothing gets cut. How do I get a refund while purchased as a QVC through the Meijer check-out? Its not a Meijer stock item.

I seem to have a tough time using it in shredding carrots! The holder keeps ruining it and I always ended up using knives;( but it works good for onions

Hello I have this and it has become dull and I would like to know how to get it exchanged. I love mine and have used it every day since I bought it and that was 2 and a half years ago. I would like to know how I get it sharpened or replaced so I don’t have to go to long without it in my kitchen.

I bought the slicer from a demo also. I found it hard to turn the blade knob, then when I did slice a yam, pieces of the cheap black plastic broke off. I am not happy with it. it is very cheap plastic. disappointed to say the least

I bought this yesterday at Wal-Mart, after a presentation. I tried using it today to dice onion and jalapeno and to slice an avocado, everything went everywhere. Seems like the prongs aren’t holding the object of my slicing, dicing firmly enough. What am I doing wrong? I think your tutorial should actually SHOW how to place the fruit/vegetable on the holder, some of the food seems to be placed on its side.

It has no storage case. The cheese shredder has no cover on the blades. There is at least a half inch of produce waste. If the unit is not rinsed IMMEDIATELY, food sticks and there is no way to get it off. There is NO WAY I would allow a child to use this very sharp tool. There is no safety over those julienne blades and they are wicked sharp. The unit slides all over the place since there is no hook to hold it in place over a bowl or on the edge of the cutting board. While it does slice, you have to use a lot of strength, it does not store conveniently so I am thinking my cutting knife or my small food processor is just as fast and and safer.

I just purchased it when a promo person was showing it at Sam’s Club, Baton Rouge, LA. The promo contains several items, but I can see that the price is cheaper online. I specifically asked how much the slicer sells for and I was told -over $200 by the sales person. But I can it sales for $61.99. I paid about $100 with the extras. I don’t think the extras are worth $40. Is the price of $100 the right price?

I purchased my Pro Smart Slicer at a Store Demo a year ago, absolutely love it, however; I lost the hand guard holder that protects your hand when you are doing the slicer. I went to another demo in a store and asked them about it, they said to contact you and you would send me another one! I’ve sent (FOUR) different messages to you requesting help in obtaining the safety hand guard holder, NOT ONCE, have I received any communication back to help me resolve this! I am at this point extremely unhappy and frustrated with your lack of customer service! I can’t use the Pro Smart Slice like I want too because I am afraid of cutting my fingers! What can I do to get another safety hand guard holder! Any help would be greatly appreciated! My email is maggie53289@cox.net. Thank you for your assistance!!

I bought one of the professional sets 3 or 4 years ago. (The color was white back then.) I’ve used it almost daily, and it’s still in perfect condition, as sharp as ever! Highly recommended.

I’ve used something like this before about forty years ago when I used to help my mother in the kitchen, I think it was a Ronco thing. I like this product but I feel there is a safety/design issue that should be addressed.
The selection knob is difficult to grip and turn when the shredder blades are up so the knob should be knurled for a better grip and a flared end to push against when turning the knob and selecting the cut you want so your hand doesn’t slip off of the knob and and slide onto the cutting surface. Apart from that using common sense when using the mandolin will get you some fantastic results in food prep.

I like the slicer just fine and it works well. One problem I encountered…when using the shredder to make zest from the peel of 6 lemons, I noticed that the lemon juice softened the black plastic. It actually seemed to melt the plastic. I rinsed it off, but it dried with a rough finish in the area nearest the “blades”. I don’t know if the plastic will react with all citrus juices, but it certainly reacted to lemon juice. It still works just fine, but it doesn’t look quite so nice as it did. 🙁
I thought I should let you know so you could warn other customers about using lemons. I certainly won’t use them with the slicer because I won’t want to mess it up!
